Interdental brush instead of dental floss — where it fits

The interdental spaces make up about a third of the entire tooth surface. That is where caries arises particularly often, and that is also where gum inflammation begins.

Where the space allows it, an interdental brush cleans more thoroughly than dental floss: it has bristles, fills the space and is easier to guide. Dental floss remains for the narrow spots that no brush fits into.

The size is what matters. Too small does not clean, too large injures the gums. The practice measures it — most people need two or three different ones.
