The first visit to the dental practice: earlier than most people think

The first appointment should take place while there is nothing to be done. The child then gets to know the practice as a place where things are looked at and counted — not as a place where it becomes unpleasant.

In practical terms: from the first milk tooth, at the latest by the first birthday, and regularly after that. The statutory health insurance pays for this early detection.

Parents help most by preparing little. Sentences such as “there is nothing to be afraid of” plant the idea in the first place. It is better to treat the appointment like any other.
